Graveside Rites
Held At Stewards
Mill For A. H. Bass

Graveside rites were held for Aubrey Handsel Bass at the Stewards Mill cemetery
Friday [5 May 1961] afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Leon Peacock and the Rev.
S. Downey Mills officiated.

Mr. Bass, well-known Freestone County rancher, died at Freestone County
Hospital May 4. He had been ill for several months and had been in the
hospital since February.

He was born in Navarro County, son of the last Hosea B. Bass and Mattie Awalt
Bass. He was married to Miss Marjorie Watson February 24, 1921.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Neil Bass; one granddaughter, Dorina
Elaine Bass, all of Fairfield; three brothers, Clarence Bass, Lubbock, J. B.
Bass and Cullen Bass of Houston; five sisters, Mrs. Ava Jacobs, Mrs. Eleanor
Bell Bonner, Mrs. Otie Daniel, all of Fairfield, Mrs. Irene Ferguson of New
London and Mrs. Lela Becker of Hawkins; other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers were Jack Daugherty, Frank Marsters, Billie Daniel, J. W. Jacobs,
W. C. Becker, Fred Ferguson, and Frank Bragg
