Son of George Godfrey Beall & Helen Madeline McDougall. Doug & his friend Lawrence Wilson had planned a day of sailing off Toronto Island when a storm came up. They stood and watched the waves crash against the seawall and a lifeguard noticing the danger they were in shouted a warning to get their attention. He was running toward Beall & Wilson when at that moment a large wave crashed against the seawall and took both men out. Both men clung to a piling, but a second wave took Doug. Only Lawrence survied and Doug was never seen again.
