Robert W. Cogswell was born in Tulsa, OK on March 2, 1921 and lived most of his life there. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School and spent a year at Tulsa University before joining the Navy during World War II. He served as a weatherman in Samoa and at the Clinton, Ok airbase. After the war, Robert was based in Burwood, LA with the weather bureau. In 1946, Robert married Lillian Case and they have been married for nearly 68 years. Robert and Lillian returned to Tulsa in 1955 from Oklahoma City and in the early 1960s, Robert became a draftsman for the then McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company, now Boeing, and enjoyed a long career there until his retirement. Robert was a long time member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was a frequent member of the choir. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, volunteered with the Red Cross Bloodmobiles and was a volunteer at the Tulsa Air & Space Museum. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, L.W. & Lottie Cogswell, his brother L.W. "Bill" Cogswell, and his sister Ruth Baker.
