Miss Amelia H. Annan, 90, of Taneytown, died at the Michael Manor Nursing Home, Gettysburg, Pa., Friday afternoon, Oct. 5. She was born in Emmitsburg, a daughter of the late Robert L. and Hessie Birnie Annan.
She is survived by a sister, Miss Elizabeth Annan; two nieces, J.B. Mowbray-Clarke of Bethesda and Mrs. Myron McGuigan, Dennisville, N.J. Miss Annan has been a member of the Taneytown Presbyterian Church since 1910. She was a charter member of the Carroll County Historical Society. She was a board member of the Women's Auxiliary at Springfield State Hospital and had been formerly active in nearly all the civic associations in the town.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Skiles Funeral Home in Taneytown with her pastor, Rev. Eugene Ackerman, officiating. Burial will be in the Emmitsburg Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.
