Herald Coaster, August 17, 1983:

Funeral services for Roy Ferguson of 9017 Emma St., Needville, will be held Thursday, 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Needville. Mr. Ferguson, 79, died Tuesday at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital.

Active in his community, Mr. Ferguson was a 25-year member of the Needville Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the First United Methodist Church. He also operated the Ferguson Variety Store in Needville.

Mr. Ferguson is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Zbranek, Sheridan, and Dorothy Raska, Needville; his two sons, Fred Ferguson and Donald Ferguson, both of Needville; his sister, Mrs. Fay Roesler, Needville; his two brothers, Romy Ferguson, San Antonio, and Lawrence Ferguson, Howe; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors of Rosenberg. Rev. Bernard Beamon will officiate.
