Zachery Sheffield was the son of Antonio Madison "Matt" and Ann (McBride) Sheffield. He married Minnie Ellen Taylor on December 20, 1900. After Zach's death, Minnie took their children to live on a reservation in Oklahoma (she had Cherokee ancestry).
