Services Held For Longtime Resident
Mrs. Mary H. Derricott, 69, Montpelier resident for 50 years, died January 5 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, following an extended illness. She was born February 14, 1892 in Hooper, Colorado, the daughter of J. W. and Embazetta McDonald, and came to Montpelier in 1910.
Active in church and fraternal organizations, Mrs. Derricott was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, a past matron of Betsy Ross Chapter No. 17, O. E. S., and served three terms as Noble Grand of Hope Rebekah Lodge No. 20, I. O. O. F. She was also a member of the W. B. A.
She married Loran T. Headlee on October 20, 1914 and he died in January, 1920. On April 14, 1942 she was married to Charles Derricott. He died May 23, 1967.
Surviving are two children, a daughter, Mrs. Felix (Myrtle) Goracke of Boise, a son, James M. Headlee of Montpelier, two sisters, Mrs. Omar Wigington of Montpelier, and Mrs. Hettie Page of San Diego, five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Presbyterian Church with the Reverend G. E. Kelley officiating. Easter Star funeral ceremony was under direction of Mrs. Harold Walter.
Musical numbers were by a male trio, Max Haddock, Eugene J. Grimes and Philip Hulme singing “In The Garden”, and Mrs. Eugene W. Wilcox singing “A Perfect Day”. Mrs. Lester Armatage was accompanist and played the prelude and postlude.
Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery under direction of Matthews Mortuary.
