George Dietrich married Louisa Schweickhard on November 14, 1865 in Gorham, NY. To them were born six children; Edward G.,Anna,Eva,Herbert,Samuel, and Lewis. He was one of ten children, his surviving brother, Henry at his bedside at the time of death.
George came to Cattaraugus in 1873 and later purchased the farm where he lived for 33 years. In the spring of 1910 he relocated to the Village of Cattaraugus.
