Hyrum Goff was born on July 29, 1849 at Long Whatton, Leicester, England to Isaac Goff and Mary Naylor. He was baptized a member of the LDS Church on his July 29, 1857 by his Father Isaac Goff and confirmed by Elder Isaac Higbee. In 1858 Isaac moved with his parents to Nottingham, England. On April 17, 1862 he traveled with two brothers and a sister to America on the Ship John J. Boyd. He arrived in Castle Garden, New York on June 1, 1862. Hyrum was very ill with Mountain Fever while crossing the plains. He was nursed back to health by Abbie Gardner, Archibald Gardner's wife.

Hyrum Goff was a Utah Pioneer. He came to Utah on Sept. 24, 1862 in the Homer Duncan Company.

Hyrum Goff was married to Maria Tryphena Arnold on Jan 2, 1871 at the Endowment House, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.

Hyrum Goff lived in West Jordan, Salt Lake County, Utah and Midvale, Salt Lake County, Utah. Hyrum was the first mayor of Midvale City, Salt Lake County, Utah. He was ordained a member of the seventy on Jan. 3, 1870 by James Crane. He was set apart as a President of the 33rd Quorm of Seventies by Abraham H. Cannon. He was Bishop at East Jordan LDS ward (now Midvale). On Oct.21,1901 Hyrum was chosen as President of the Jordan LDS Stake.


Hyrum Goff died on Nov. 24, 1914 at Midvale, Salt Lake County, Utah. He was buried on Nov. 27, 1914 at the West Jordan Cemetery, West Jordan City, Salt Lake County Utah.
