Gerry S. Paulos Beloved Wife & Mother Gerry S. Paulos passed away on the morning of January 14, 2006 at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City from cardiac pulmonary arrest after a long illness. She was born October 18, 1926 to James A. and Hannah Sullivan in Tooele, Utah. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City in 1945. She married William A. Paulos on June 8th, 1955 and they enjoyed a long and happy life together until her death. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church and taught Sunday school at the Holy Trinity Parish for several years. Gerry lost most of her hearing at a very early age and was an ardent advocate for the deaf & hearing impaired; she could take a swift and strong stand against those who made sport of an often misunderstood disability. Gerry and her husband were members of the Ambassador Athletic club and enjoyed many good times there with friends and family. Although Gerry wasn't the greatest natural athlete, she kept up, with her skiing son and golfing husband, with good cheer. She often taxied "the crew" in the neighborhood to the slopes enjoying the laughter and high jinx of several little boys. Gerry and her husband Bill's good natured ribbing of each other was legendary among friends and family. Gerry was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority, where she and her sisters undertook many philanthropic endeavors on behalf of those less fortunate. But by far, Gerry's greatest joy was her family in whom she took great pride in caring for under every condition both good and bad. Gerry suffered bravely the last four months of her life in which she endured four orthopedic operations and was bed ridden and would never walk again until her death. She was preceded in death by parents James A. and Hannah Sullivan and one brother Dennis Sullivan. Survived by her husband Bill, one son, Mark Paulos and Mark's Fiance, Renee Cawley; many brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Charles and Julia Holt and family, P.A. Darrin Smith, Cindy Johnson and the rest of the staff at Holt Family Practice who treated Gerry like family, giving her the best quality of life until she passed. A viewing will be held Wednesday January 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Tate Mortuary 110 So Main St. in Tooele, Utah. A funeral will be held Thursday January 19th at 11:00 am at Tate Mortuary as well. Interment Tooele City Cemetery.
