GRIFF (TEX) HOWELLS

Griff (Tex) Howells, 60, 47 Russett Ave. (2790 South) died Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of cancer.
Born June 28, 1904, Paradise, Utah, a son of George and Sarah James Howells. Married Virginia Stringham, Salt Lake City, Oct. 3, 1925. Employed by Union Pacific Railroad Co. for the past 39 years as a car inspector. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, member of the Union Pacific Old-Timers' club; affiliated with Car Men's Union.
Survivors include his widow, Salt Lake City; a son and daughter, Dale G. Howells, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Barber, Bountiful; nine grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Pearce, Murray; Mrs. May Winther, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Martha Packer, Pocatello.
Funeral Saturday at 12 noon, 372 East 1st South. Friends call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday prior to services. Burial, Midvale City Cemetery. Family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
