Bernice Rita (Kappell) Peeters, age 85, Little Chute, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family April 3, 2006, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was born May 20, 1920, in Kaukauna to the late Walter and Bardine (Heiting) Kappell. Bernice married Eugene "Shorty" Peeters on May 3, 1941, in Little Chute. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and Fox Valley Golf Club. She enjoyed sewing, golfing, fishing, bowling, knitting, traveling and a little gambling. She also loved music and dance.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene "Shorty" of almost 65 years; sons: John (Kitty) Peeters; Chuck (Kim) Peeters; Joe (Barb) Peeters; daughters: Mary (Robert) Elrick; Pat (Jerome) Diedrick; Amy (Jeff) McLaughlin; Lisa (Shane JenTz)Peeters. She is further survived by 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
Bernice was also preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, four brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2008, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chutes with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating.
Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, was in charge of arrangements.
