Services for Maggie M. Fleetwood, 86, Squires, were held at 10 am Wednesday at Murray Church with the Rev. Donnie Pruiett officiating. Burial was in Murray Cemetery under direction of Clinkingbeard's of Ava.
A lifelong resident of Douglas County, Mrs. Fleetwood died at 10:35 pm Sept. 6 at Mercy Hospital, Mansfield following a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Murray Pentecostal Community Church.
Born Feb. 21, 1901 in Douglas County, she was the daughter of Sherman and Julie Workman Hitchcock. She married Dave Fleetwood on March 4, 1919 in Douglas County. He preceded her in death in 1934.
Survivors include two sons, Burney and Dave Fleetwood, both of Squires; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Lane, Squires and Mrs. Ellie Hartgroves, Ava two step-children, Bill Fleetwood, Ava, and Mrs. Mary Hall , state of California; one brother, Bill Hitchcock, Ava; one sister, Mrs. Dolly Robers, Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Two children, Sherman and Dorothy; one step-son, Fred; two grandsons, Harlan and Timothy; and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
