He was the son of Canada Lee by his first wife Malissa Maxwell. He married Lilly Ann Duke the natural daughter of Susan Duke. He lived in Overton County most of his life, but moved from there in 1912 along with several of his children to settle in Oklahoma where some of his children had already settled. I have been told that this 1912 move was by covered-wagon.
He died sometime about 1928, but the exact date of his death is unknown at this time as is the exact place of his burial. It seems likely that he was buried next to his wife who died in 1912, shortly after the move to Oklahoma.
