Mr. Daily was born on June 8, 1925 in Lebanon, Oregon to the late Edwin Daily and Amy Parsons Daily. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from December 1943 to 1945. He helped set up the U.S. Navy Hospital on Banika Island about 15 miles east of Guadal Canal in the Pacific. Ted was a retired Optician from Cumberland Optical Company that he and a partner owned and started in 1959. There in Nashville he became a successful and very respected businessman. He was inducted as a Shriner in 1966. He and his devoted wife, Frances, were married 49 years and were always a fun-loving couple, enjoying family and friends. He was a born-again Christian and member of the First United Methodist Church in Springfield.
In addition to his parents Mr. Daily is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Traughber Daily, his son, Ronnie Daily, his daughter, Darlene Henley, granddaughter, Michelle Daily and three sisters, Alice Julia and Ilene. He is survived by his son, Ed Daily of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Linda (Ki) Robinson of Taft, TN, Diane (Craig) Murdoch of Flintville, TN and Sherry (Lewis) Winn of Fayetteville, TN; step-daughter, Linda (Billy) White of Springfield; brother, Bud Daily of Lebanon, OR; sister, Brenda O'Leary of Lebanon, OR; grandchildren, Lisa Gore, Rodney Henley, Wendy Cocke, Jason Murdoch, Rhonda Murdoch, George Murdoch, Camren Robinson, Lewis Winn, III, Ashley Winn, Michele Vaughn, Melanie Kirby and Stephanie Hilliard; and 21 great-grandchildren.
