John was preceded by parents, William J. and Nora Elizabeth Drum Dellinger, siblings, Ross, Fred, Maggie and Flora Dellinger, Jane D. Fincher, Ora Lee Holbrook, Rachel D. Walker.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Dellinger was a member of First Presbyterian Church, former member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, where he had served as an Elder and a Sunday School teacher.

He owned and operated John Dellinger Home Improvement Co.

He played semi-pro baseball, member of Carolina Golf and Country Club, Ram’s Club of UNC.
