Sherman Ralph Dickerson 91, of Wapello, died Saturday evening, Dec. 23, 2000, at Wapello Nursing & Care Center.
Born October 20, 1909, in Dade County, MO., he was the son of Sherman and Roseanne Bennet Dickerson. He married Olline Vaughn in 1937 in Greenfield, Mo. She died in 1963.
Mr. Dickerson worked in the railyards and worked for schools.
He was a Greenfield High School graduate.
Survivors include four daughters, Ruby Wurster of Booneville, Mo., formerly of Wapello, Jean Curtis of Booneville, Wilda Soules of Adrian, Mo., and Bonnie Brewer of St. James, Mo.; one son, Harold Dickerson of Adrian; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, three brothers and one sister.
The body has been cremated.
There will be no visitation or service for Mr. Dickerson. The cremated remains will be sent to Adrian, Mo.
Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello is in charge of arrangements.
