Wanda Scott, age 66, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on June 13, 2014 in Aurora.
Wanda was born on November 1, 1947 in McCook, Nebraska to parents James L. and Vera D. (Stumbaugh) Scott. She was one of seven children. They family made their home in McCook where Wanda attended the Church of God and graduated from McCook High School in 1965. She then went on to further education at St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing and Loretto Heights College. Wanda graduated with a degree in nursing.
Wanda served her country as a nurse in the United States Army. She began her military career as a nurse in 1968 and was honorably discharged after 25 years of service to her country.
Following her retirement from the military, Wanda continued working as nurse until her health prevented her from continuing.
In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching game shows. She had a special companion, her dog Nigal.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and James; and two sisters, Cleo and Carolyn.
Wanda is survived by her brother, Roger Scott of McCook; sister, Verba Anderson of Trenton, NE; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 18, at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook with Pastor Tim Roberts officiating. Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
