Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and husband, Jim Ferrin, passed away on Father's Day June 15, 2014 at the age of 67.

Jim was born October 21, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clive Bronson Ferrin and Esther Lillian Olsen. He was one of six children. Jim graduated from South High School. At the age of 21, he married his childhood sweetheart, Bonnie Throckmorton. Their love began at age 12. Jim retired as a Sergeant from the Salt Lake City Police Department after 38 years of service. He loved every minute of it.

Jim was an avid golfer, and he was awesome! He had a great love of music—everything from opera to the Grateful Dead. You wouldn't want to be up against him in a game of Jeopardy! He was considered the "Tomato King," loved history, and his dogs Ugly, Norman and Baxter. No one could tell a story like "The Big Guy." He had everyone in stitches with his wonderful sense of humor. Most of all he loved his family.

Survived by his wife Bonnie, children Brooke (Rod) Andersen, Heather (Jeremy) Haney, Justin (Jessie) Ferrin, grandchildren: Jake, Abby, and Nate Andersen, and Alyssa and Parker Haney; brother Paul (Anna) Williamson, and sisters Diane (Hank) Gundry, Danna (Dee) Mabey, Shonnie Reich, LuAnn (Miquel) Nunez, and father Eldon O. Williamson. Preceded in death by his father Clive Bronson Ferrin, and his mother Esther Lillian Olsen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-2:45 pm, and the funeral will begin at 3:00 pm.
