Lloyd lived in New Castle his entire life. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1961. On Aug. 11,1963 he married the love of his life, Linda True, and in 2013 they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Lloyd retired following 30 years of employment with GM Anderson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Lloyd never met a stranger and loved visiting with friends and extended family.
He was a very good fisherman and enjoyed all outdoor activities including camping, mushroom and deer hunting, riding his scooter. Lloyd's most special activity was spending time with his grandchildren. He was admired by family and friends for his common sense, wisdom, and his ability to teach others.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Linda; their children: Scott Allen (Brenda) Catey and Lisa (Bobby) Catey Wise; grandchildren: Chelsea Catey, Nick Catey, Lindsey (Robby) Wise Pickett and Abigail Wise; brothers: Harold (Louise) Catey; niece: Jennifer (Kevin) Catey Buchanan; two great-nieces; several cousins; and many-many good friends.
In addition to his parents Lloyd was preceded in death by his step-father: Clyde Hedrick, his in-laws: Paul and Margaret True; and his nephew: Jeff Catey.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20,2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Jack Flowers and James Dudley officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
