Margie A. Bauer, 74, Warrensburg, MO, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at the Ridgecrest Care Center, Warrensburg.
Mrs. Bauer was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Alma, MO. She was baptized Nov. 8, 1925, at Flora Lutheran Church, south of Alma, and confirmed on May 13, 1939, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alma. She attended eight years of parochial school at Trinity Lutheran and graduated in 1943 from Alma High School. She was a secretary for the Alma Co-op before her marriage to Norman W. Bauer on June 6, 1948. She was also a secretary for Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, MO, and was a case worker for the Missouri Division of Family Services for 16 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving for several years as a Lutheran Brotherhood Communicator. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Gene Bauer.
Her survivors include her husband of 52 years, Norman W. Bauer of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy K. and Karon Bauer, Concordia, MO; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia K. and Lynn Graybill, Madisonville, LA; one brother, L.L. 'Dick' Bredehoeft and wife, Helen, Kansas City; three sisters, Ruby Dean Frerking and husband, Raymond, Concordia, James Schroer, Raymore, MO, and Joyce Kuhl, Lubbock, TX; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Bredehoeft Stanfield, Lake Leelanau, MI; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 nephews; and five nieces.
A memorial service will be held at noon Monday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Warrensburg. Cremation, with a private burial at the Veteran's Military Cemetery, Higginsville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the building fund at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.
