Margaret E. Pevornik Bauer, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Bauer was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Penn, a daughter of the late Andrew and Susan Sciranka Pevornik. Mrs. Bauer was co-owner with her husband, Robert W. Bauer, of the former Mountain Gateway for more than 30 years. Mrs. Bauer was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant and was president of the Frick Hospital Aid Society. She is survived by her loving family; her sons, Michael E. Bauer and his wife, Angelika, and Ronald J. Bauer, and her daughter, Susan M. Bauer, all of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Patricia Hettich and her husband, Darin, Christine Fabin and her husband, Justin, Robert J. Bauer and his wife, Jessica, Amy Ondek and her husband, Andrew, and Nicholas Bauer; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hettich, Sarah Hettich and Isabelle Bauer; her brother, Emil Pevornik and his wife, Elizabeth, of Jeannette; her sister, Julia Goodman, of Penn; her former daughter-in-law, Cheryl Bauer, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Bauer, in 1984; her sons, Robert Bauer, in 1961, and Timothy Bauer, in 1985; brothers, Andrew Jr., John, George, Michael and Paul Pevornik; and sisters, Anna Thomas and Mary Doody. Friends will be received Friday from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. A blessing will be in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, with Father Michael W. Matusak as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3 p.m.
