Bro. Lawrence Amos, 90, of Hamburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his residence in Hamburg. Bro. Amos was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Hamburg for most of his life and a former resident of Nashville, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and he was a Baptist Minister for the past 54 years.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Thomas Amos; his parents, Bill & Fannie Woods Amos; two sisters, Lena Findley and Feddie Murphy.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Billie Hynum Amos; two sons, Larry Joe Amos and Tommy Vernon Amos all of Hamburg; five daughters, Kaye Brownen of Glen Rose, Texas; Darlene Jones of Livingston, Texas, Rita Kinsey and husband, Stephen, of Honobia, Oklahoma, Cindy Davis of China Springs, Texas and Terrie Zeigler of Hamburg; a brother, Lane Amos; a sister, Helen Knight both of Hamburg; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Lonadier and Rev. Tommy Boles officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home
