ASHTABULA - Gladys Hall, 86, died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.

Loving wife of 48 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hall, and her parents.
.. Born May 13, 1917 in Cleveland, the daughter of Edward Martin Sides and Odesa Alice (Smith) Sides. She lived in Geneva 30 years before moving to Texas in 1997 and returning in 2001.
.. She was a loving mother and grandmother, survived by two daughters, Carol (Tom) Bennett Fair Hope, Alabama and Patricia (Richard) Parkin of Hambden Twp.; four grandchildren, Steven T. Bennett of Ashtabula, Barbara (Charlie) Venderville of Perry, Charles Rembacki of San Antonio, TX, and Tammela K. (Richard) Kelsey of Belton, TX; 2 great grandchildren, Matthew and Cara Venderville, both of Perry.
.. She enjoyed people, life, flowers, reading, bowling, dancing, and artwork. She attended Kent State University, Ashtabula Campus.
.. The family suggests contributions to your favorite charity.
.. Her remains will be cremated and a private family service will be held.

Gladys M. Smith-Sides, was the biological daughter of Charles E. Smith and his wife (Alma Appleman) who died after giving birth.

Charles gave his sister (Odessa Alice (Smith) Sides) and brother-in-law (Edward Martin Sides) his Infant daughter to adopt and raise as their own, as Charles E. Smith was unable to raise or care for Gladys on his own.
