Alta M. Perham married Charles Lawrence Shilling in McPherson County, Kansas, about 1900. Charles and Alta moved to Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona, about 1910. By 1920 they had relocated to nearby Warren, where her parents joined them in February or March. Alta's father died soon after his arrival at Warren in April and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Bisbee. From Warren she moved to Yuma in 1921, taking her widowed mother with her. Alta's mother died at Yuma in 1922 and sometime not long thereafter she and Charles moved to Smartsville, Yuba County, California, where both of them remained for the rest of their lives.
