John Henry Anderson was born in Martin Co NC. After the death of his father he moved with his mother an sisters to Vance Co NC work in the North Henderson cotton mill. He was called Uncle John by everyone.
Machinery, especially automobile machinery was his great passion. He owned one of the earliest motorcycles made in the U S A. He worked at the Candler Automotive shop.
He married Essie Trollinger who was the love of his life. Shortly after her death from stomach cancer Uncle John had a massive stroke and was bedridden.
His sister Annie Amanda Anderson took care of him. She waited on Uncle John hand and foot. I never heard her raise her voice to him.
