He married Charlotte D. Endicott on Oct. 5, 1837 in Cambridge. They had five children.
1. Catharine Fiske, (1839 - 1840).
2. William Endicott Fiske, (1841 – 1908); m. Caroline Elliot Hartwell in 1864.
3. Arthur Dana Fiske, (1843 – 1899); m. Caroline Whitney in about 1880.
4. Charlotte Elizabeth Fiske, (1845 – 1847).
5. George Henry Fiske, (1849 – 1920); m. Jennie Douglas in 1878.
In 1840, Elijah appears in the Boston City Directory as a bookkeeper.
In 1850, he had moved to New York City and is listed in the City Directory as a merchant.
In 1856, Elijah received a passport in New York City to travel "accompanied by his wife".
Sadly, he died three years later, not quite reaching the age of 49 years.
