Christine was the daughter of Bill and Doris (Steege) McGregor.

She graduated from Jefferson Community High School in Jefferson, Iowa with the Class of 1969. She attended the University of Northern Iowa.

She was an All-State vocalist during high school and active in drama and music.

Tragically, she was killed in a one-vehicle automobile accident near Jefferson early Saturday morning, July 22, of injuries resulting from an overturned car on Scranton River Road. Deputy Sheriff, Bill Youngblood, discovered the accident while on night patrol at 2:18 am. Miss McGregor was pinned beneath the car which was in the ditch on its top. A wrecker was called to lift the car from the girl, and she was taken by ambulance to the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. Several local donors volunteered blood, but Miss McGregor died from internal injuries.

Memorial services were held on Monday, July 24, 1972 at 2:00 at Central Christian Church. The Rev. David Goin officiated.

Her high school classmates commemorate her at each class reunion, along with remembering the lives of other classmates who have also passed. She will not be forgotten.
