He was a teacher of vocal music many years; enlisted as Private in Co. I (Capt. J. W. Lang, Jr.'s), 12th N. H. Regiment; was promoted to Sergeant; participated in the battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg, in the last of which he was severely wounded, and, in consequence, honorably discharged. Res. in Meredith (1881).
