Effie M. Carter June 26, 1911-March 1,2005 Effie M. Carter, 93, of La Harpe, died March 1, 2005, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb after a brief illiness. She was born June 26, 1911, in Monroe County, Ky., the daughter of David Wesley and Mary Catherine Ryherd Jenkins. On Dec. 17, 1926, she married Oscar Carter in Mitchellville, Tenn. He died Aug. 27, 1977. She is survived by two daughters, Emogine Bowen(Dale) Eppley of La Harpe and Elaine Bednar of Theyer, one son, Doc (Vicki) Carter of Richland Center, Wis.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews
