Helen M. Hancock, 88 of Tipton died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in Middleburg, Florida. She also lived in Florida from 1978 until 2002. Helen was born in Alexandria, Indiana on July 9, 1925 to Vernace P. & Marcella A. (Hughes) Hurst. On June 1, 1946 she married William A. Hancock and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1978.

Helen was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church, Florida and American Legion Auxiliary. She had worked at Tipton County Memorial Hospital, Dr. Compton, Polar Bear and as a private caregiver while in Florida.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Ann Sparks, Penney Farms, Florida, Janice Smith, Tipton; one brother, William T. Hurt, Tipton; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, one granddaughter and one daughter, Candice Campbell.

Helen's funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at West Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
