Gloria received her education in the Sioux City East Community Schools graduating with the class of 1977. After high school, she worked as a nurse's aide that offered home assistance to the elderly before she began attending Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City. Gloria met Glen Aldag in Ida Grove, Iowa, in 1980 at a singles activity and they were married August 1, 1992, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The couple settled in Kiron, Iowa. When Sarah started school, Gloria went to work at Eventide as a Domestic Aide.
Gloria was a caring mother and volunteered for her children's activities and as 4-H mom for her children's 4H club. Gloria enjoyed sewing, craft work, gardening, and caring for her pet dogs, cats, and rabbits. She was especially fond of her "grand-dogs." She collected horses and kerosene lamps. Gloria liked to watch skating, especially when her children would go skating. When she occasionally watched television, she watched the show, Big Brother. Gloria was a faithful and active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit.
