Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Baie, 64, of Hinckley, Illinois, passed away on Sunday. October 4, 1992, suddenly at his home. He was born January 9, 1928, in Waterman, Illinois, the son of Glenn and Gertrude (Jacobson) Baie.

He attended the Immanuel Lutheran Grade School in Hinckley and Hinckley High School. He was united in marriage on August 20, 1949, in Hinckley, Illinois to the former Katherine Bahl.

He was a farmer in Hinckley and Sugar Grove area all his life. Ronnie was known as a truly hardworking farmer and conscientious in everything he did. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley, where he was a trustee of both the cemetery and the church boards, and also a member of various other church offices. His life was devoted to this family, his church and his friends. He will be missed by them all.

He is survived by his wife Katherine of Hinckley; four children, Dennis Baie of Hinckley, Joanne (Harold) Alfredson of Plano, Rhonda (Stephen) Woodrick of Sycamore and David Baie of DeKalb; eight grandchildren, Christine Baie, Vanessa Baie, Darren Baie, Katherine Jones, Vicky Jones, Matthew Alfredson, Michael Woodrick, Nicole Woodrick, and three step-grandchildren, Cheryl (Scot) Kelly, Tim (Debbie) Alfredson and Kristin Alfredson; also four step-great-granchildren; two sisters, Delores (Lorean) Crow of Mylith Park, Illinois, and Pat(Ben) Burch of Rochelle, Illinois; his mother-in-law, Hattie Hartman of Hinckley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandparents, Jeanette and Ernest Baie.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 7, 1992 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley with the Reverend Donald Balgeman officiating. Interment was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Norman Dienst, Len Anderson, Karl Rissman, Denny Stevens, Jack Mitchell, Dave Rausch, Dennis Bahl and Keith Crow.

Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Homes.
