VICTOR D. WHITE JR. TIMMONSVILLE -- Victor Daniel White, Jr. 90, died in a local hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be Friday, June 13, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Florence. Visitation will be today (Thursday) June 12, 2014 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. White was born in Florence County, the son of the late Victor D. Sr. and Addie Lee White. He was a member of Effingham Presbyterian Church. He served his country in the US Navy. Before retiring, he was a supervisor with Wise Construction of Florence. He enjoyed the outdoors, beekeeping, hunting and gardening. Survivors are his wife of sixty-six years, Serena Morris White, Timmonsville; a son, Daniel White, Charlottesville, VA; two daughters, Linda (Joe) Broadwell, Florence, Serena (Danny) Norris, Hartsville; a sister, Frances Alice White; five grandchildren, Joe Broadwell, Jr, Julia (Chad) Jernigan, Lucas White, Dixon White and Katie White; three great grandchildren, Chloe, Atticus and Brody. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Charles and two sisters, Annie Jones and Mildred Hicks.
