One of the world's first recorded set of identical black quadruplets to be born and the only set to survive infancy in the South.The Fultz quads were born on May 23,1946 at Annie Penn Hospital by Dr.Fred R. Klenner.The four identical sisters were named May Louise,Mary Ann,Mary Alice and Mary Catherine.On their first birthday they appeared on the cover of Ebony magazine and rose to stardom as poster children doing advertisements for Pet Milk for 14 years.They also appeared on many television shows and met President John F.Kennedy at the White House in 1961.Mary Ann Fultz passed away from breast cancer in 1996.
