James L. Allsup died Sep. 15, 2003. He was born Sep. 10, 1926, in Liberty Center, a son of Earl and Flossie (Curtis) Allsup. James was married to Beverly Drake in Milo, Iowa in 1946. He and his family have made their home in Madison County since 1953, coming from Warren County. James was a farmer most of his life. He is survived by his wife Beverly Allsup of Winterset; four children, Jimmy Alsup and wife Marla, of Winterset; Dennis Allsup and wife Kathy of Winterset; Kathy Vaughn of Winterset; Becky McDonald and her husband Steve of Lorimor; three sisters, Helen Cooper and her husband Dick of Earlham, Fern Douglas of Earlham, Margaret Jurgensen and her husband Bill of Winterset; two brothers, Earl Allsup, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Peru, IA, and Robert Allsup and his wife Helen of Melrose, IA; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Guy Richard Allsup.
