Son of Samuel Stewart and Mary Hendricks

Benjamin, located south and west of Spanish Fork and about three miles north of Payson, near the shore of Utah Lake. Benjamin Franklin Stewart, together with his brother Andrew Jackson Stewart and others from Payson, in the year 1862, surveyed and laid the foundation of the town, which was named Benjamin in his honor. Among those locating and establishing homes here were the families of Shadrack Richardson, Enoch Gurr, Tom Baker, Ephraim Kapple, Edward Stocks, Elijah Haws, Isaac Rogers, Dr. George Hone, Sr., and David Hone.
Twelve children were born to Philander Barrett and Sally Scott Stewart:
