Caroline I. Kohlmann was born in either 1854 according to the Census for 1860 (age 6) when she was residing with her grandparents, Fred & Caroline Albert. In later records it is indicted that she was born about 1855. It is my belief that she was born in 1855 due to her birth date, Feb. 12 and the marriage date of her parents, October 19, 1853. She was born February 12, 1854 or 1855. She was raised by her grandparents, Fred Albert who died in 1886 and Caroline L. Albert who died in 1900. She had a full blood sister, Sophia Marie Bertha Kohlmann who was raised by her father and step mother, Henry and Caroline (Zoelner) Kohlmann. Also had seven half siblings by the second marriage of her father.
This is the correct Caroline "Carrie" I. Butterfield, born 1854 and died 1945.
Contacted the sexton of Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo, Sauk County, Wisconsin:
Caroline I. Kohlmann Butterfield is interned next to Mr. Charles M. Butterfield and there is no marker on her grave. The only information that the sexton's records had was that she was burried on February 1, 1945 next to Her HUSBAND, Charels M. Butterfield.
