Born in Bluefield, West Virginia he was the son of the late Oakey Bowes and Ruby Hypes Cole. He was predeceased by his wife, Michelina; a son, Michael and a brother, Hayes Bowes.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, VA and a veteran of WWII. Randy retired from Carolina Coach (Trailways) and Volvo Penta as a mechanic. There was not anything he could not repair. Randy was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of the Izaak Walton League of America.
Survivors include his children, Connie Todd (Billy), Jimmy (Terri), Randolph, Michele Worley (Hugh) and Bridget Hamilton (Ron); brothers, Billy Bowes and Joe Cole; sisters, Treva Harman, Dorothy Black and Geraldine Johnston; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
