Known as Fred Collins; son of the late Frederick J. and Daisy Leona (Lyle) Collins.

He attended Greenville High School and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.

Incorporated Collins Music Company in 1964.

President of the Amusement and Music Operator's Assocation and helped establish the association's Executive Development Program taught at Notre Dame University.

Member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S and was a Scottish and York Mason; also a member of The University of South Carolina School of Law Partnership Advisory Board and the Greenville Technical College Foundation Board.

Appointed by Governor Carroll Campbell as a Commissioner for the Commission of the Future of South Carolina.

Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; one son; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services: Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, Overbrook Baptist Church.

Burial: Westview Cemetery, Liberty, SC.
