A. Walter Cory, 77, 211 E. Seymour St., more recently a resident of Golden Rule Nursing Home in Gaston, died Friday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Cory was formerly employed as a machinist in several Muncie machine shops and at one time, while living in Illinois, was a mechanic for aviator and auto race driver, Eddie Rickenbacker. He has lived in Muncie for many years.
Surviving are several cousins including Mr. Wayne Russell and Clyde J. Cory, both of Muncie, Vercil Cory, Eagle, Mich., and Paul Cory, Bowie, Md.
Services will be held at the Meeks Mortuary at 1 p.m. Saturday with Lt. Norman Marshall, commanding officer of the Salvation Army, officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Grove. Friends may call at the mortuary after 10 a.m. today.
