SHINER: Florence Sumrall Nollkamper, age 90, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014. She was born February 9, 1924 in Pueblo, Colorado to Carroll Burelson and Amanda Jane Askins Sumrall.

She was a member of Shiner United Dr. Martin Luther Church, was an active community leader in Boy Scouts, president of PTO, avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs, Bowling League and was a 4-H leader. She was a charter founder of Shiner Pilot Club and served as the President of Pilot.

She loved to play the piano, was a great cook, a great gardener and was a dedicated mother. She graduated from Baldwin Business School and worked as a bookkeeper for many businesses.

She was married to her beloved husband, Gus Nollkamper for 71 years, until his death in November 2013.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kenneth Nollkamper; sisters, Lila Ruth Stevenson and Violet Tuma; brother Carroll Burelson Sumrall.

Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at the funeral home.

Funeral service 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Shiner United Dr. Martin Luther Church with Rev. Elaine Gomulka officiating. Burial at Shiner Cemetery.
