Loren W. "Benny" Downard Jr, age 73, passed away June 6, 2014 in Redlands, California. He was the oldest son of Loren W. Downard Sr. and Viola Mae Rohde.
He Married Minerva "Judy" Bailey in 1960 and from that marriage they had 4 children,3 sons, Loren "Ben", James "Sonny", Michael Downard, of Manessas VA, and daughter Christian "Michelle" Downard of Alexandria. They lived in Virginia, and then in Southern California. After their divorce in 1975 Judy and the children moved back to Virginia.
He married Laurie Baltz in 1980 and they had a son Thomas Michael Downard of Redlands California.
He worked at JPL in Pasadena CA, then joined the LAPD and worked there until he retired in 1985. He also worked part time at the Moose Lodge where he was the administrator.
Services will be held on June 21st 2014, at the Moose Lodge.
