Thomas was born on July 19, 1942 in Abilene, Texas. He attended public schools and after graduating high school, joined the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country for 12 years. Thomas continued to serve his country by being a part of the civil service in Ft. Sam Houston for 26 years.
Tom's hobbies included antique radio restoration and bass fishing. He loved high school football, The Dallas Cowboys, and The San Antonio Spurs. He was also quite the history buff for the WWII era.
Preceding Tom in death were his father, Thomas H. Buster, Sr.; his step-father, H. C. "Dick" Smith, and mother, Emogene Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Buster of Converse, TX; his daughter, Carol Buster also of Converse, TX; his brother, James Smith of Tuscola, TX; and a granddaughter, Julia Buster.
