Another Old Citizen Gone.— Died, at his residence, near Rockville, on the 4th instant, James W. Higgins, in the 79th year of his age.
By the death of Mr. Higgins another old landmark is effaced, another link which bound us to the past is rudely broken, and another aged and respected citizen has gone to his final rest. In all the relations of life he was a true man—honest toward his neighbors, kind to the deserving poor, a true friend to all, a loving husband and father, and one who will be greatly missed in the community in which he lived for so many years. In his views of the affairs of life he was an example of sturdy independence, who never cringed to those who might occupy places of wealth or power, and was ever as ready to lend a helping hand for the elevation of those whom Providence had placed in the humbler walks of life. He leaves behind him a sorrowing family and a host of friends who have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
