William was the son of Amrod Moon and Catherine Elizabeth Kilbreath [Hamburg, Livingston County, Michigan]. He married Margaret Foster, the daughter of William Foster and Anna Wiley, on 17 November 1869, in Randall, Kenosha County, Wisconsin. William and Margaret were the parents of five known children, in birth order: Georgia Catharine (Harry Cocroft), Grace Edna (never married), Louis Percy (Bridget Claffey), Charles Frederick (never married), and Gertrude Elizabeth (1. Daniel B Gifford 2. George McCulla). All these children were born in Lake Geneva, except for Georgia Catharine, who was born in Richmond, McHenry County, Illinois.


William was a carpenter by trade, having built homes in Lake Geneva in the late 19th and the turn of the 19th Century


William and Margaret are my childrens' paternal 3x great-grandparents, through their daughter Gertrude Moon Gifford McCulla ~


Note: Cemetery record #2426 cites William Moon died of old age and was buried in the Moon family lot, Section C Lot 19 Grave 7, there is no memorial stone at his grave site ~
