Mr. Jackman retired in 2004 from ArvinMeritor in Franklin, where he had worked for 19 years, and was formerly employed at Stadler Packing Company for 14 years. He attended Memorial Baptist Church and was baptized in 2013 at a church in Kentucky.
During the Halloween season he enjoyed dressing as Dracula, complete with sound effects and casket. He enjoyed performing karaoke at his home, being outdoors at his property in Brown County and spending time with his granddaughter.
Born in Barren County, Kentucky, April 16, 1943, Mr. Jackman was the son of John Woodson and Ruth Eugenia Oller Jackman. He married Clara Hook on April 13, 1964.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Leslie G. (Denice, and her son Trey) Jackman Jr. of Columbus; sisters, Bessie Sue Phelps of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Dolly Lundy of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Judy (Joe) Bryant of Frankfort, Kentucky; and a granddaughter, Tabatha Jackman of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Woodson Jackman, James Edward Jackman and Jody Bohannon; and sisters, Irena Jackman, Janie Jackman, and Aline Ballard
