Walter Dolehite, 76, of Waco, went to meet his Lord, family and friends that went before him, on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Val Verde Cemetery in Milam County. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23 at the funeral home.

Walter Leroy was born in Holland, Texas, to the late Roy and Buell (Parmer) Dolehite. He owned and operated Specialty Welding on LaSalle Ave. for 40 years and was a U.S. Navy Seabee and veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Dolehite, of Waco; sons, Matthew Dolehite, of Waco, and Douglas Walter Dolehite and wife, Judy, of Dallas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Sue Clark, of Waco.
