Earl J. Barnhart, 58, of Nixa, died Monday, December 20, 1993, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield.

He was born April 14, 1935, in Maries County, the son of Albert and Elizabeth Barnhart. On June 28, 1960, he and his wife, Dorothy, were married.

Mr. Barnhart was a longtime resident of the Nixa area and was employed by Consolidated Freightways.

He was a member of Southside Church of Christ, Ozark, and Friend Masonic Lodge #352 A.F. & A.M., Ozark.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Robin Fox and husband Doug, Ozark; a son, Brent Barnhart and wife Krista, Ozark; a stepson, Lou Burns and wife, Linda, Highlandville; two stepdaughters, Sherrie Coen, Ozark, and Deborah Burns, Dixon; nine grandchildren, Lindsay and Tyler Fox, Tony and Reggie Burns, Casey and Farrah Coen, Apple Barnhart, Rex Pennybaker and Pepper Pemberson; and five sisters Betty Barnhart, Waynesville, May Burnham, Springfield, Fay Hollis and Myrene Edwards, both of Vienna, and Goldie Radcliff, St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ellis and Harold Barnhart.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Charles White and Doug Fox officiating.

Singers were Steve and Janet Holmes. Escorts were co-workers of Consolidated Freightways. Honorary escorts were Dean Baty, Ralph Withers, Harold Rowden, John Anderson, and Burl Copeland.

Burial was in Hopedale Cemetery. Masonic services were provided.
