MRS. MATT WALTERS DIED HERE SUNDAY

88-Year-Old Local Resident Leaves 68 Living Descendants

Mrs. Matt Walters, well known resident of this community for many years, died Sunday at the McCauley Nursing home here after an extended illness. She was 88 years of age.

Mrs. Walters was the former Martha Adams, daughter of Isaac and Clarinda Adams, and was born in New York state. She came here as a child with her parents, and spent the remainder of her life in or near Winterset.

Mrs. Walter's husband, Matt Walters, died two years ago. She leaves a sister, Callie Adams of Winterset; and 10 children, Mrs. Bessie Thomas of San Francisco, Mrs. Essie Votruba of Des Moines, Mrs. Nora Clark of Winterset, Mrs. Hattie Armstrong of Los Angeles, Mrs. Edna Sally of Minneapolis, Mrs. Grace Jannison of Mason City, Lee Walters of Minneapolis, Charles Walters of Van Meter, Ray Walters of Rapid City, S. Dak., and Ernie Walters of California; in addition to 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were set for this Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis of Winterset. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
